Hi Everyone, thought I'd save George from flooding his email inbox with messages by just posting to the Forum :)
So I was watching another Divergent (YouTuber) video today https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwb8cNAv0L8
Anyway I enjoyed the video and reading the comments. In there I found a fascinating reference to the above mentioned Edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica. It's text is quite impressive as it was written 'before' the treaty. If you watch the video on this link the guy reads the text and explains. https://www.bitchute.com/video/FyYHFiku8qQQ/
I'm completely new to all of this but I have an open and rational thinking mind. I found this video quite compelling.
On a side note I was hiking the other day. At the top of a small hill I was admiring the near 360 horizion view from the Pacific Ocean to inland Australia (Central Queensland). I find mysel paying more and more attention to the horizion line and honestly you could put a ruler against it and it would be completely straight. I found myself thinking that if we were on a sphere wouldn't you see just a little bit of curve? I went home and bought some binoculers so as to see further and try to identify islands or mountains. I'm sure with basic trig maths I can prove to myself what I should or shouldn't be able to see with a given height above sea level and a clear line of sight to a given land mark. OK that's all for now folks. Take care :)

PS Weirdly I feel this photo I took on the day of my hike shows a slight curve which was not the case when looking with directly. Hmm.
