I spent time working at White Beach Naval Station on Okinawa as a contractor a few years back. One of the things that confused me during my flights back and forth was the fact that the flight pattern took us north from Seattle along the coast of Canada and Alaska, then swooped back down in a large arc to Narita Japan, then down to Okinawa. I could not figure out why the flight path was essentially taking the long way "loop", but years later when observing the Flat Plane Earth Model, the flight path makes PERFECT SENSE because it is actually going is a straight line from Seattle to Narita, and then Okinawa. Just my experiential observation.
