Millions and billions and hundreds of trillions

I remember as a kid being told that the light we see from stars is from billions of years ago and many of those stars have already gone supernova and no longer exist and we're just now seeing the light. I'm like, then why are they still twinkling? My mom said something like, it's almost like a recording that finally reaches us, the light was twinkling then, and finally reached us after traveling though space. It NEVER sat with me or made sense and neither do these ridiculous articles and their impossible math.

Brain stopper language such as millions and billions cannot be comprehended, therefore it must be accepted as truth when "experts" tell us so.

THIS. People don't realize what that does to our thinking process. Just like you said, it stops the brain from trying to comprehend, and the information is just accepted. Equivalent to numbing agents used in surgeries.

I've found the same thing occurs when attempting to get a fellow Bible believer to explain how the sun and moon stopped as recorded in Jeremiah 10 within the concept of a heliocentric model, and I get the usual brain stopper comment "God can do anything"

Yup. It's pretty frustrating. Same with the whole galaxy mess. "The galaxy shows how great God is by making such great conditions here on earth for us to survive the abyss. If we weren't titled, we wouldn't have any seasons and the cycle of life would quickly dies out... yada yada yada." The coping mechanisms that we create are quite extraordinary.
