I am fairly new to flat earth (about 1.5 years) and I recently flat smacked my 15 year old daughter. She completely accepts it and had some good questions I cannot answer and have never heard asked or answered. If the firmament separates the waters from the waters, then why doesn't the water above the firmament shimmer and have obvious movement like the oceans and seas? When you watch the Go Fast Rocket video, which I showed her, when the rocket hits the firmament then slowly spins around, you can see the sun but why is the rest of the sky so dark until you get really close to land? Why doesn't the light from the sun reflect off the firmament?

In the ocean, what colour is the water where there is no light? I think that's one part of the answer.....
But I have wondered the same thing. One clue I think is the stars - they shimmer like light on water, so there is something there.
I've been looking closely at the blue sky this summer. Whether it's just me wanting to see it or not, I don't know, but it seems to me like there is an undulating in the blue, like it's water.
I think the water doesn't shimmer so much because we're looking at the BOTTOM of the heavenly sea (Rev 4:6, 15:2). It's compressed against the firmament. The shimmering there will be on it's surface, although John says it looks like glass.
